Bayern Munich have already won this group and host Lokomotiv Moscow who are bottom of the group. It's a rather meaningless game for the defending Europeean champions, who have 13 points from their five group games. The group was won with two games to spare after Bayern won their first four matches. That extended their winning streak in this competition to 15 games. That run ended when they could only draw 1-1 at Atletico Madrid last week, needing an 86th minute penalty to avoid defeat. Bayern played a weakened line-up in that match and are more than likely to do so in this match. The weekend saw them with their top players back with seven team changes, but they could only draw 3-3 at home to RB Leipzig. They led 2-1, trailed 3-2 but equalized with a quarter of an hour remaining. That extended their unbeaten run to 15 games and one loss in the last 45. Home form in the Champions League has seen them win their last six matches.
While there is little for Bayern to play for, the same doesn't apply to Lokomotiv Moscow. They have three points from five games in this group, one behind Red Bull Salzburg in third. A loss or draw in Germany will see them finish bottom of the group, a win will give them a chance of making it into the Europa League. They would need Red Bull not to beat Atletico Madrid at home though. Moscow are yet to win a match in this group with three draws from their five games. Two of those came against Atletico Madrid, the other a draw at Red Bull. Last week saw them lose 3-1 at home to Red Bull and now they have to rely on their away record. That's not too inspiring with no wins in their last five and just one in the last nine. Even with a weakened side, Bayern can win this match (they won the reverse fixture 2-1) and lead at both half and full time.
