For many viewers, what has transpired in Group G was expected before a ball was even kicked. Barcelona have won five games out five and are top with 15 points while Juventus will join them in the last-16 as runners-up on 12 points. Meanwhile, both Dynamo Kiev and Ferencvaros have both lost twice at the hands of the two qualifiers with their only point coming in a 2-2 draw against one another in match week two.
Therefore, we head into this game in Ukraine with both teams eyeing third place and a spot in the draw for the Europa League Round of 32. Despite being down to 10-men for the most part of their domestic fixture at the weekend, Dynamo Kiev held on for a 2-1 win over Mariupol but despite their steady form in Ukraine their adventures in Europe have been short-circuited so far. Dynamo have conceded 13 times in their five games including three in their defeat last week to Barcelona. At home they have lost three of their last five matches against Champions League opposition, including Shakhtar Donetsk in the Ukranian Premier League, and have failed to score in all three games.
As for Ferencvaros their maiden campaign at this level has been a painful one. They have played against two of the elite teams in Europe in Barca and Juve but their defence has unravelled and they have conceded 16 goals so far. They have however, scored five goals which is two more than their opponents but their goal difference is one worse than their hosts at Ferencvaros risk exiting Europe entirely. On the road they have lost both games so far but did manage to get on the scoresheet at the Camp Nou and Allianz Stadium and they have won each of their last three games on the road in Hungary.
