The fate of these two teams will go down to the last day as the state of Group F is yet to be decided. Borussia Dortmund currently lead the way with 10 points from five games and only need a point to advance which they should get at Zenit. Lazio are currently second and could join Dortmund in the last-16 but Club Brugge are lurking just two points behind in third and would clinch second-place with a win.
Lazio fought for a point in Germany last week and manged to hold on to the second round of 16 qualifying spot despite Brugge’s 3-0 win over Zenit but they aren’t over line yet. They will however, come into this game off the back off a 2-1 win over Spezia at the weekend and with that winning feeling but they were beaten in their last home game 3-1 by Udinese. Nonetheless, they have won three of their last five home matches including both of their Champions League matches with 3-1 wins over Dortmund and Zenit.
Meanwhile, Brugge come into this contest having won each of their last two games with a 1-0 win over St. Truiden following their exploits in Europe last week. Away from home however, they have lost two of their last four games whilst winning just one and they have failed to score in either of their last two games on the road. Club Brugge were beaten 3-0 away in Dortmund during their last European trip but they did win in Russia when they defeated Zenit 2-1.
