Tottenham Hotspur and Jose Mourinho come into this final Europa League group game off the back of a 2-0 win over North London rivals Arsenal which sent them top of the Premier League. However, despite their impressive domestic form their Europa League campaign hasn’t been plain sailing and their 3-3 draw with LASK Linz last week means they come into this game two points behind their opponents. Antwerp defeated Spurs on matchday two and their 3-1 win over Ludogorets last week leaves them just needing a point to top Group J.
Spurs are currently second with 10 points and they are unbeaten in eight games since their loss in Belgium having won six of those matches. Antwerp remain the only team to have beaten Spurs since September but with Mourinho looking to top the group he will likely field a much stronger side than the XI that competed in the reverse fixture. At home the club have won five consecutive matches including both of their home group games by a 7-0 aggregate score-line. Spurs have won ten of their last 11 group games at home in the Europa League whilst drawing the other and look a step above for many teams at this level.
Royal Antwerp have won their last two games in the Europa League but a 4-2 loss away at Genk at the weekend would have dampened the mood within the team. Nonetheless, Antwerp are back on the road where they have won each of their two away games in the group so far. However, Antwerp’s victory in Austria against LASK Linz is their only win in four away from home. This Antwerp’s first appearance in the Europa League group stage and they will be in the round of 32, possibly as group winners.
