The Giuseppe Meazza Stadium will host another high-profile match when AC Milan takes on Juventus this Saturday. Bianconeri’s form has dipped lately and they will be hoping for home comforts against the Old Lady. Read on for our preview and prediction of this match.
Milan left for the international break having picked a point from a six-goal thriller against Genoa. Twice they lost the lead in the game before a late goal from their hosts stole a point. Milan have a three-match unbeaten run but three defeats in eight matches constitute a dent to their confidence.
The last time they hosted this fixture, Milan lost 1-0.
Juventus, on the other hand, had a triumphant outing, registering a routine derby win against Torino. Goals from Timothy Weah and Kenan Yildiz settled the Turin derby, Juventus head to the international break on the back of a 2-0 win.
The visitors will now take to the San Siro a five-match unbeaten run, though they won just twice in the period. Juventus have enjoyed their away days more and come into this match unbeaten in seven on the road.
While they’ve lost their defensive solidity in recent matches, Juve have made for it with good numbers in attack. In the last five away league matches, they scored 12 times.
Milan are coming from a draw with Cagliari, which once again exposed their defensive weaknesses. They have failed to beat Juventus in the last two matches and will be keen to bounce back here. Juventus are, however, one of the most solid sides in Serie A at the moment.
The Old Lady are drawing more than they are winning though and this has been a constant worry. Six of Juve’s last 10 Serie A matches have ended in draws and we expect this too to go the same way. Our prediction for Milan v Juventus is for the game to end in a draw.
