Fourth seed Adrian Mannarino and unseeded Cristopher Eubanks will on Saturday meet in the final of the Mallorca Championship. Mannarino defeated Yannick Hanfmann in the semifinals while Eubanks overcame the challenge of Lloyd Harris. This game will mark Adrian Mannarino's 12th career tour final. He will hope that the outcome is different from nine other finals he has contested. Mannarino has claimed only two tour titles in his career though one was on grass in Rosmalen in 2019. The Frenchman’s form on grass so far has played a big part in him turning his season around. He arrived in Mallorca with a losing record but has now one more win than losses. The win over Hanfmann, his 20th of the campaign, has moved him up eight places to 35th in the live ranking.
Christopher Eubanks has set a piece of personal history by advancing to this final. The American is preparing to play in the first ATP tour final of his career. He will hope that it is the first of many as he aims to become a regular at the top level. Eubanks has alternated between the challenger and tour levels and has managed to win 29 of the 45 matches he has played. Nine of his victories have come in the 12 matches he has played on grass. This will be the second encounter between Eubanks and Mannarino. Eubanks won the first, played in Miami earlier this year. Reaching the final has catapulted him up 27 places to 50th in the live ranking.
Our prediction for Adrian Mannarino v Christopher Eubanks is for Eubanks to win. Though this will be his first tour final, Eubanks arrives for this match having fared better in finals than the experienced Mannarino. That, as well as his form on grass and his head-to-head advantage here, we are confident of a Eubanks win.
