Mamelodi Sundowns will travel to Sudan to face Al Hilal under no pressure with a place in the quarter finals of the CAF Champions League assured. The Sudanese side will be the one under pressure here as they are third in Group A with four points, while Sundowns top with 10 points. Al Hilal will travel to Cairo to face Al Ahly in the final game and will want to take three points from this to keep their hopes alive going into the final group game. The home team has a good run going to this game; in their last four matches, they are unbeaten and have three straight clean sheets. Their only losses in the last 10 matches have been in the Champions League; 1-0 away to Sundowns and 2-1 away to Al Merreikh. Ahead of this game they are however coming from a 1-0 win over Al Merreikh and will bank on an 11-game unbeaten run at home, which have eight wins and 10 clean sheets. Each of their last five home matches has produced under 2.5 goals and the same is the case for their last 10 home matches in this competition.
South African champions Sundowns are coasting to another league title at home and can afford to place all their attention on the Champions League. They already have a quarter final slot booked and as a result may be tempted to rest top players. Going into this game they have four wins in the last five matches and have four clean sheets. Their Champions League journey so far has been great - there wins in four matches and they haven't conceded a goal in the last five matches in the competition. This season though, they haven't managed more than a goal in their four Champions League matches and each of their last five Champions League games has ended in under 2.5 goals. With a seven-game unbeaten run in the Champions League, this looks like another easy outing for the South Africans who are coming from home and away wins over African champions Al Ahly. They haven't enjoyed much success away in this competition though, posting just a win in the last five matches.
This will be a tricky game for Al Hilal; they face a side that has nothing to lose, and probably with key players rested. Sundowns can only try to keep their unbeaten run in the competition but for Al Hilal this is a must win game. Both teams haven't been scoring a lot and with the stakes here, we expect the same. Go for under 2.5 goals.
