In a match that is sure to shake the top four race, Arsenal are set to host Chelsea in the Premier League. This will undoubtedly be the biggest match this weekend; pitting second placed Arsenal against fourth placed Chelsea. Below is our prediction of the match.

The comfort Arsenal carry into this game is that despite the result, they’ll stay second. However, a win will be crucial to their quest to at least finish second for the third straight season.

The Gunners start the round on 55 points, four clear of their closest challengers. Their confidence will be high, having secured a Champions League quarter-final slot after a 2-2 draw with PSV.

Chelsea are also coming from a successful outing in Europe, beating Copenhagen 1-0. With that win they secured passage to the Conference League quarter-finals 3-1 on aggregate.

The Blues have had some consistency in their recent matches and will also be confident coming here. In each of their last four matches they posted wins, and only conceded one goal.

Two of those matches were in the Premier League, against relegation-threatened sides; Southampton and Leicester City. It will be interesting to see how they switch, to a much stronger opponent and in a London derby.

Away from home in the league, they are winless in six matches.

Arsenal have lost momentum in recent weeks. They will come here short of the confidence they had when they thumped Chelsea 5-0 in the corresponding fixture last season. The Gunners have collected just two points from their last three league matches and such struggles could be witnessed again.

Chelsea have also not been at their best on the road especially in the league. Without a win in six away league games, we don’t expect a flawless match from the Blues. Our prediction for Arsenal v Chelsea is a draw.
