Chelsea's hopes of winning the Premier League look all but over. The second placed side are now 13 points behind leaders Manchester City and really need to win at ninth placed Brighton. Chelsea still have a big season ahead of them with an EFL Cup final for starters. Finishing in the top four in the Premier League looks like being their target now after losing 1-0 at the league leaders on Saturday. Chelsea had gone 11 league and cup games without defeat before the weekend loss. They have only won one of their last four away league games but have a strong record against Brighton. The two sides first met in 1933 with Brighton winning, but since then Chelsea have won 12 and drawn four. Three of those draws have come in the last four meetings and all but one of the last five have seen under 2.5 goals scored.
Brighton could have beaten Crystal Palace on Friday and would have done but for a terrible penalty miss. Albion have now drawn ten of their 20 league games, both scoring and conceding 21 goals. After a strong start to the Premier League season, only two of their last 15 games have been won. The last seven home league fixtures have seen them win just once, a 2-0 win over Brentford. Each of the last five home Premier League games at the Amex Stadium have had under 2.5 goals scored in them. They've only scored nine home league goals this season, but conceded just 10 with four being scored by Manchester City. They could do with a bit more firepower up front and the tip here is to go for under 2.5 goals in this game.
