Before Wimbledon this year, Cameron Norrie had never reached a Grand Slam quarter final. He has the chance to make it two in a row if beating ninth seeded Andrey Rublev in the US Open fourth round. Seeded seventh, Norrie has become a very consistent player in recent months. He's followed that Wimbledon semi-final with a run to the final in Los Cabos and last four in Cincinnati. Norrie is up to eighth in the live rankings but a win over Rublev will take him above Novak Djokovic into seventh. He's yet to drop a set in this tournament and won his last match against Rublev.
His opponent made a good start to the year and has won three tournaments. Two of those were won in February and his last title was in Serbia in April when beating Djokovic in the final. He did reach a semi-final in Washington recently but didn't beat anyone ranked in the top 60 and lost to the world number 96 at the time Yoshihito Nishiioki. He's slipped down to 11 in the rankings but is up to 10 in the live rankings. It's been a struggle to get this far in New York with two matches going to a final set. The third round saw him have to come from two sets to one down to beat Denis Shapovalov. Norrie looks to be in the better form, go for him to win this match.
