Crystal Palace v Arsenal Betting Tips [21 December 2024]

For the second time in a week, Crystal Palace and Arsenal will be facing off. This latest London derby comes right after their League Cup match. Here’s our prediction as Palace welcome Arsenal to Selhurst Park.

The Eagles took a first half lead against a much-changed Arsenal in the opening half of their League Cup quarter-final. They would come out second best after Arsenal made second half changes, eventually losing 3-2.

Crystal Palace clearly saw Arsenal’s superior side and will want to do better. Palace start this game four points above the drop zone and will hope to widen the buffer. 

Arsenal’s win against Palace in midweek was their fifth in a row against this opponent. They will be looking to extend this run as they also seek to stay in the title race. Back-to-back draws with Everton and Fulham in the league have slowed down the Gunners. 

They are now third in the standings, and six points behind leaders Liverpool, who even have a game in hand. Things are getting tighter for Mikel Arteta’s side and only an away win will work for them here. In six away matches in the league, Arsenal managed just one win – against West Ham United. 

Crystal Palace’s best effort against Arsenal in midweek could only yield a 3-2 defeat. They have an immediate change at revenge. They would want to take it on but Arsenal can be tricky customers. Even as they play at home, we expect Crystal Palace to assume the underdogs’ position.

Arsenal have won their last two matches at Selhurst Park and as they are expected to start a strong side, they’ll be favorites to clinch three points. Our prediction for Crystal Palace v Arsenal is for Arsenal to win.
