Eintracht Frankfurt host Aberdeen in Group G of the Europa Conference League. Also in this group are PAOK and HJK so Frankfurt will be confident of finishing top and reaching the last 16. Frankfurt have had a successful time in Europe in recent years and this is their first time in the Conference League. They won the Europa League two seasons ago and in 2022-23 got to the last 16 of the Champions League. While they are unbeaten in the Bundesliga this season, Frankfurt have only won one of their four league games. Three have ended level and all four matches have been against sides who are currently below their ninth place in the table. Home form is strong with no losses in their last 11 league and cup games since being beaten by Napoli in the Champions League last season. Frankfurt had to beat Levski Sofia in the play-off round to reach the group stage, drawing away and winning the home leg 2-0.
Aberdeen are in the group stages of a European competition for the first time since the 2007-08 season. The Scottish Premiership side began the season in the Europa League play-off round but were disappointingly beaten by Hacken 5-3 on aggregate, losing the home leg 3-1. That loss took them straight in the group stages of the Conference League. The Dons are struggling in the Scottish Premiership this season and only have one club below them. Only two draws have come from their first five league matches of the new season. Their most recent match saw them lose 2-0 at Hearts, their third successive defeat. Only one of their eight league and cup games has been won this season and that was against a lower league club. We go for Eintracht Frankfurt to win this match and be ahead at both half and full time.
