Rigas are on a good run ahead of their home game against Hearts in the Europa Conference League. The two face off in Group A, separated by just a point. Rigas are second with a point and hearts are still in search of their first. For the hosts, it has been a great run to this point; they come into the match without a loss in the last 10 matches. In their last outing, they thumped Spartaks Jurmala 3-0 to stay in contention for the Latvian league title. That was their third win in five matches and the third time they scored more than a goal in five matches. They’ve however managed two clean sheets only in their last five matches, with both teams scoring in three of the five games.
Hearts have a lot to improve on going into this game. They are coming from a 4-0 home loss to Istanbul Basaksehir, which was their third straight game without scoring. They’ve actually failed to score in four of their last five matches, and lost the four games. Their only win in the last five matches was in their domestic league, beating St. Johnstone 3-2. They were completely blown away by Trabzonspor on Match Day 1 and as they seek revival in this game, Hearts will also be hoping to do better in an away game. So far they are winless in the last four away matches, and they have lost each of the last three.
Hearts are on a poor run; their scoring run isn’t great and they haven’t done better at home, they go into this game as underdogs, facing a home side that is enjoying a good run and going well in attack. Go for a Rigas win.
