UEFA Nations League Betting Tips from our Experts

UEFA Nations League Predictions 2024/25

Nations league betting tips

The Nations League, also known as the UEFA Nations League, is a European competition competed for by 55 international teams. Held every two years, when the flagship competitions (World Cup and Euro) are not being organised, the Nations League is divided into four divisions (A, B, C, D), which are themselves divided into different groups (4 for the most part).

The principle of the tournament is fairly straightforward: each team that finishes top of its group moves up to the top league at the next tournament, and plays the other leaders in its division in a final play-off round. At the last edition (22/23), the top two teams in League A earned a place in the play-offs for Euro 2024.

The top four teams in League A then competed for the title in an exciting Final Four, bringing sporting, media and financial benefits to the tournament. For 2024-2025, qualifying tickets for the 2026 World Cup in the United States, Canada and Mexico will be at stake this time. But there's also a new feature: the quarter-finals! There's plenty to spice up your predictions, so take advantage of the great UEFA Nations League odds offered by the bookmakers! Find out more below.

What you need to know for your Nations League predictions

Good to know Nations League

What you need to know before betting on the Nations League is that it is divided into several leagues, themselves divided into several groups.

In total, there are League A, League B, League C and League D. Within each league, there are four groups (Group 1, Group 2, Group 3 and Group 4), in which four teams play each other over two legs. Division D, on the other hand, comprises just two groups of three teams.

As a concrete example, in 2024-2025 League A comprises 16 teams, evenly divided. Group 1 features Croatia, Poland, Portugal and Scotland; Group 2 Belgium, France, Italy and Israel; Group 3 Germany, Bosnia, Hungary and the Netherlands; and Group 4 Denmark, Serbia, defending champions Spain and Switzerland. An identical system will be used in the next two divisions (B and C), for matches that are bound to be interesting to watch. Note that the top two teams in these groups will qualify for the rest of the tournament: quarter-finals (two legs), followed by the semi-finals, the match for 3rd place and the final, all played in a single match.

At the end of the group phase, there will be promotion and relegation for the sides finishing top and bottom. These teams will meet in play-offs to determine the final champion of each division. In 2025, the champions of divisions A, B, C and D will thus be known. The icing on the cake is that the countries finishing top of their groups will advance to the next division, replacing the nations that finished bottom of their groups. There will also be a play-off system between the second-placed teams in the lower divisions and the third-placed teams in the upper divisions.

When making your predictions for the 2024-2025 Nations League, you'll need to take into account the real stakes involved in each match, as well as analysing the form of the teams and key players. If you want to place a successful bet, you should also take a look at the history of encounters between the two nations you are betting on, and observe the tactics regularly employed by European coaches. These are all parameters that are bound to count when it comes to calculating your prize pool!

Statistics to know

Nations League statistics

If you want to make the best possible predictions for the Nations League, there are a few key figures you need to know. Firstly, the number of goals. The average number of goals per game in League A was low in the last edition, reaching 2.62 per match. To this figure, it is also important to add the only 46% of matches seeing the +2.5 goals, and just under 23% the +3.5 goals.

As you can see, it's worth betting on fairly close matches in 2024-2025 if you want to make some reliable predictions on sports betting sites. It's worth noting that the figures for League A are much higher, but that they drop considerably when you analyse the statistics for the three lower leagues. It's up to you to decide which division to bet on.

Another interesting figure is that the ‘Both teams score’ bet was valid in 48% of matches in the last edition, and always in Ligue A, i.e. less than one match in two. The ratio of away wins was 34% in this second edition, and 23% for draws. With 43% of wins coming at home, the double chance 1X thus concerned almost 66% of matches in the last edition. So if you're in any doubt, don't hesitate to take a chance with your sports bets on this tournament.

Finally, as well as noting that matches with a 2 goal difference or more accounted for 37% of matches in 22/23, you will note in conclusion that the correct 1-0 (or 0-1) score bet was placed almost 20% of the time across all leagues (19.1% to be more precise). If you want to bet on Leagues A, B, C or D, here's a bet that might interest you. Especially as the odds will be very interesting, especially for this bet. So don't hesitate to give it a go, it could boost your winnings with the bookmakers!

Nations League: Our free prediction for 2024/2025

Nations League winner prediction

Who will win the 2024-2025 Nations League? According to the odds offered by the bookmakers and the opinion of many observers, there are 4 big favourites: France, Spain, Germany and Portugal. Add to that a few outsiders, such as the Netherlands, Italy and Belgium, and you have a very interesting competition. It's worth noting that England, who had a disastrous last edition, have been relegated to League B and will therefore be ineligible for the title.

Returning to our prediction on the winner, our experts believe that the odds on Les Bleus are too low to tempt, and they favour the good odds on Spain and Germany. In contrast to France, these are two fine teams who showed a very interesting face at the last Euro 2024 played in June and July, especially La Roja. With a wonderful generation combining raw talent, intelligence and above-average technical quality, the Spaniards are currently the favourites to win the double after already winning the last edition.

As far as the French team is concerned, while we are obviously hoping for a revival and a much better competition than what was on offer at the last European Championship, it is hard to see Les Bleus being able to compete with such quality, as was the case in the Euro semi-final. If you want to bet on the future winner of this competition, we therefore advise you to bet on Spain. The odds are very good at the moment, so don't hesitate to give it a go!
