Five times in those nine matches, Scotland suffered defeats but they only failed to score in three of their last 15 matches. Right ahead of this fixture, Scotland blew a 2-0 lead to draw 2-2 with Finland in their final friendly match. That result marked the sixth time in nine matches that they conceded more than a goal.

It has been a slow recovery for Germany but they appear to be rediscovering their form at the right time. They definitely have to deal with the pressure but coming here on a four-game unbeaten run helps. Playing at home, and against a nation they’ve rarely struggled against should also work in their favor. However, Scotland carry an attacking threat and this could pose some problems for Germany, who aren’t the best defensively.
