Greece host France in their final match in Euro qualifying Group B. They begin this game against the group leaders in third position and that's where they will finish. For some teams that'd be bad news but the Greeks are assured of a play-off position with possible opponents including Georgia and Luxembourg. The home side have earned 12 points from their seven games in a difficult group. Their three losses have predictably been inflicted by France and second placed Netherlands. The other four group games have all been won with only one goal conceded. A vital 1-0 home loss to the Netherlands in October hit their automatic qualification hopes, losing 1-0 to a 93rd minute penalty. The reverse fixture in France saw them beaten 1-0 thanks to a second half penalty scored by Kylian Mbappe.
France will find it a lot more difficult than Saturday's group game. They put 14 goals past a Gibraltar side that played most of the game with only ten men. That record win for the French side maintained their 100 per cent record in this Euro 2024 qualifying group. 27 goals have now been scored by the 2022 World Cup finalists with just one conceded. That was scored by the Netherlands when beating them 2-1 away from home. France have only lost one match (a friendly against Germany) since losing the World Cup final to Argentina last December. Their last six away Euro qualifiers have all been won and with five clean sheets being kept. We tip them to beat Greece and complete a perfect record in this group.
