Both Egypt and Guinea-Bissau will be seeking their first three points at the 2021 AFCON when they face off on Match Day 2 of the competition. Egypt go to the game bottom of Group D while Guinea Bissau are second with one point, secured from the 0-0 draw with Sudan. Guinea-Bissau are winless in their last five matches, and have no goal in that run as well. Meanwhile, they’ve conceded eight goals and each of their last three matches has produced under 2.5 goals. This is the third AFCON competition for Guinea-Bissau; in the earlier two they’ve exited at the group stage. They are still in search of their first win at AFCON and have failed to score in the last five AFCON matches.
Egypt suffered a second loss in three matches when they fell 1-0 to Nigeria in their opening game of this competition. The seven-time African champions will need to rise in time and dust themselves ready for this game. It has been a tough period for them too, as they only have one win in five matches and they head to this game having failed to score in three straight matches. Four of their last five matches have produced under 2.5 goals but Egypt have scored four goals in the last five matches. Their AFCON matches haven’t also been high scoring; none of the last five has produced over 2.5 goals, but Egypt have kept three clean sheets in those five matches.
There have been a few shocks at AFCON and goals have also been few. Among the teams shocked in the opening round was Egypt, who lost 1-0 to Nigeria. Not many games have produced a lot of goals and these two sides also don’t head to this game with very prolific returns in attack. Back this game to produce under 2.5 goals.
