On Thursday, Hoffenheim will welcome Tottenham to the PreZero Arena for a Europa League match. Prior to making our prediction, the Kraichgauers are in 26th and Spurs are 9th in the standings.
It has been a rough league season for Hoffenheim domestically as well as in Europe, 15th in the Bundesliga. They have won just once in their last seven league games in all competitions but their visitors are having plenty of struggles of their own.
In three home Europa League games this season, Hoffenheim have a win and two draws which accounts for all of their points in the competition so far. The win came over Dynamo Kyiv while the draws were with Lyon and FCSB.
Tottenham also sit 15th in their domestic league, losing seven of their 11 Premier League games away from home so far. The most recent of those came at Everton over the weekend following on from a North London Derby defeat.
As a general rule, there have been plenty of goals in Spurs games, finding the net plenty but they have struggled to stop them from going in at the other end.
Both of these teams are having a difficult time in their domestic leagues. Scoring goals has not been an issue for either of these sides but neither have been able to keep the ball out of the back of their own net.
There could be a slew of goals in this one but the safer option is probably just to take both of these teams to get themselves on the scoresheet. Our Hoffenheim vs Tottenham prediction is for both teams to score.
