Leeds United probably didn't want the international break to take place. The 16th placed side look for a third league win in a row when hosting Southampton who are 11th. Wins over Norwich and Wolves (after trailing 2-0) have taken them seven points clear of the relegation zone. All the sides below them do have games in hand though so Leeds need to keep piling up the points. Leeds had lost four successive home league games before a last minute goal gave them a 2-1 win over Norwich. Keeping clean sheets is still a problem though with none in their last 16 league fixtures. Five of the last eight at home have seen both teams score.
Southampton are 11th but only six points ahead of their opponents. The Saints have had an up and down season but unlike Leeds, probably welcomed the international break. They had lost three straight league games, conceding eight goals in the process. That was followed by a 4-1 home loss to Manchester City in the FA Cup quarter finals. Southampton have only won two of their last nine away league matches, both by a 3-2 scoreline. Five of the last six on the road have seen both teams score. Go for that stat to come up in this game with a small stake on a Leeds home win.
