LA Galaxy will hope to bounce back when they host Orlando City in the MLS right after their loss to Seattle Sounders. Both teams are actually coming from losses and are separated by two points ahead of this game. LA Galaxy, in the Western Conference have six points, while Eastern Conference’s Orlando City have so far garnered four points from the opening three Match Days. Galaxy took an early lead against Sounders in their last game but let it slip and they lost 3-2 in the end. Facing an opponent they have beaten three times in five matches, Galaxy will be very confident here, and having managed two clean sheets in the opening three matches points to their defensive ability. At home, Galaxy are unbeaten in their last six matches in the league, though only two here have produced wins. In their first league game at home this season, Galaxy beat New York City 1-0 and will be keen to add on to it.
Orlando City’s levels have been dropping since the start of the season. They beat Montreal 2-0 in their opening game, drew 0-0 with Chicago Fire in the second before losing 2-1 at home to Cincinnati in the third. Like Galaxy, they have two clean sheets in their opening three matches, but they have one win less. Orlando City’s away run is not the best though; they have managed just two wins in their last 14 league matches on the road. Both these wins have come in their last five away matches and much as they would like to extend the same here, they haven’t done well against Galaxy, losing each of the last two and three in the last five. The positive they take to this game though, is that they’ve failed to score in just one of the last five matches against LA Galaxy. The last time these two sides faced off was in 2019, and Jonathan dos Santos’ 19th minute goal was the difference as Galaxy won 1-0.
Both these sides are coming from losses but Galaxy, with two wins in three have done better. The hosts also have a good head to head run over Orlando City and they’ve done well at home in the league. Back LA Galaxy to win here.
