Read on for our preview and prediction as The Cityzens welcome Rudi. Manchester City are not only unbeaten in the Champions League, they haven't tasted defeat this season. in their last match, they labored through a 2-1 win against Wolverhampton Wanderers, having to come from a goal down. The champions needed a last-minute goal to clinch three points. In the Champions League, they thrashed Slovan Bratislava 4-0 last time out.
Like City, Sparta Prague also needed a late goal to secure a 2-1 win at home to Slovan Liberec in their domestic league. That was key win for the visitors as it brought to a halt their three-match winless run, which included two defeats. They will hope to replicate the same at the Etihad Stadium in their first ever match against City. Sparta Prague aren’t regulars at this stage of the Champions League but have a good start to build from. On Match Day 1 they trounced Salzburg 3-0 at home and in their first away match, they drew 1-1 with Stuttgart. In this one, the difficulty level goes a notch higher.
Manchester City may be the favorites coming into this game but their performance defensively could cause uncomfortable moments. The Premier League champions haven't kept many clean sheets, and especially in the Champions League. Sparta Prague, who are a decent attacking side must have noticed the same.
The Czech side scored in 19 straight matches and will for sure trouble Manchester City. Our prediction for Manchester City v Sparta Prague is for both teams to score.
