Zimbabwe are bottom in Group B of the 2021 AFCON and after two defeats, there doesn’t seem to be much hope for them in this competition. They are set to face Group B leaders Guinea in a stern test as they finish their group matches. Guinea have four points while bottom placed Zimbabwe have zero points so far. Zimbabwe have no win in their last 14 matches and much of this has been down to a poor scoring run. In their last 15 matches, they’ve failed to score in nine, while seven of their last 10 matches have produced under 2.5 goals. In AFCON action, Zimbabwe have failed to register a win in the last eight matches, having taken part in each of the last four AFCON finals. They go into this game without a win in the last three AFCON matches and have no clean sheet in 14 AFCON matches.
Guinea have done well so far at the competition and their 0-0 draw with Senegal in their last game was a well planned game. Going into this game, they are on three straight clean sheets but have failed to score in three of the last five matches. Guinea have a few top stars, including Liverpool’s Naby Keita but have harnessed great team work. A win here will assure qualification to the next round but even a draw could do. In their last 13 matches, Guinea have managed just four clean sheets and have four wins in the last 12 games. They aren’t the best scorers around; in the last 10 matches, they’ve scored two or more goals in just two. They have six meetings with Zimbabwe from 2008 up until now, and Guinea haven't lost any of them, winning three.
Guinea are on a better run than Zimbabwe and have dominated them in their previous meetings. Zimbabwe have no win in the last eight AFCON matches and in. nine of their last 15 matches, they’ve failed to score. Guinea aren’t so great in attack but in terms of quality are way better, so we will back them to win here.
